The Adorable Adoptables spotlight this week shines on a gentle soul with a heartwarming story, meet Egypt.
Egypt came to the shelter with her sister Trinity, and at first, she was scared of everything.
“You couldn’t even pet her,” says Robyn Roy, communications coordinator with the Humane Society. “She was so afraid.”
But with time and patience, Egypt has blossomed into a sweet and playful pup. “She actually lives in my office now,” says Robyn. “She’s the best.”
This three-year-old medium-sized girl has learned that people can be pretty great, especially when they come with chin scratches and toys.
“She loves to play with toys and puzzles at mealtime are her favourite.”
Egypt is content to just chill, especially when things get noisy. “She just sits by my feet on her blanket while I work,” Robyn says. “She’s lovely.”
She enjoys walks during quiet hours and gets along well with other calm dogs, so a future doggy sibling could be in the cards.

Egypt would prefer an adult-only home and needs a few visits to get comfortable with her new people. “She’s still on the shy side,” Robyn says. “But once she knows you, she’s all in.”
To meet Egypt, visit the shelter during open hours or call 403-932-2072, ext. 113.
