The Estevan Police Service was busy over the weekend, fielding 53 calls for service. That included responses to a number of disturbances, both at private residences and commercial properties.

EPS conducted three separate investigations over the weekend, which led to assault charges against 3 individuals. Two of those charges were as a result of altercations at local liquor establishments, while the third assault occurred during a domestic disturbance at a residential location.

Officers made multiple traffic stops during the weekend, which resulted in driver's license suspensions for individuals driving while under the influence. The EPS is still waiting on lab results on blood samples for a number of these cases.

The Estevan Police Service's detention unit was host to seven prisoners over the weekendtwo of whom appeared in Estevan Provincial Court Monday morning.

A number of calls also reached police related to hospitals, mainly in response to intoxicated individuals behaving in an unruly manner. Police arrested two of the individuals for public intoxication due to being significantly impaired, and they were lodged in cells until better able to take care of themselves.
