Members of Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy Credit Unions will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed merger of the three financial institutions beginning early next month. The voting process will open on June 3, following a special members meeting, and will close at noon on June 13.

The proposed merger would impact several credit union branches in southeast Saskatchewan, including the Conexus branch in Midale and Cornerstone Credit Union branches in Arcola, Kipling, Montmartre, and Vibank.

“We’re encouraging all members to come out and vote,” said Ken Kosolofski, Board Chair of Conexus Credit Union. “We actually do have a special members meeting starting at 5:15 p.m. on June 3rd. And immediately following that meeting at 6:30 p.m., we will be opening the voting for all of our members.”

That special meeting, which will be held virtually, will take place at the same time for all three credit unions.

Members will be able to cast their votes in a number of ways.

“We have created many touchpoints to enable our members some options,” explained Celina Philpot, CEO of Conexus Credit Union. “The method to vote would be via the digital banking application that members have access to. They can also visit us on our website and follow the link there to the voting site. And then we are also offering in-branch voting.”

Philpot added that the results of the vote will be shared with members during the week of June 16.

Leading up to the vote, Conexus will be hosting virtual town halls for members on May 20 and 22, and board and executive members will also be visiting branches to answer questions.
