Weyburn RCMP and Moosomin RCMP are investigating two separate fatal collisions that occurred on May 5.
At approximately 2:25 p.m. yesterday Weyburn RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 39, about 11 kilometres southeast of Weyburn. Initial investigation determined that a truck and a semi collided. The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man from the Carnduff detachment area, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified.
The driver of the semi was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life threatening. Highway 39 was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The investigation is ongoing with assistance from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
Later that evening, at around 8 p.m., Moosomin RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 8, north of Rocanville. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Regina, was transported to hospital by EMS, where he was later declared deceased. His family has also been notified.
Moosomin RCMP are continuing to investigate with support from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
