Update:
Yesterday, at around 2:50 p.m., Estevan RCMP responded to a collision near the Highway 39 and 47 intersections. The investigation determined that a van and a heavy-duty truck had collided, which had previously been reported as a semi-truck.
Minor injuries were reported.
Following the investigation, the driver of the van was ticketed for proceeding through an intersection when it was unsafe to do so.

Emergency crews are currently on the scene of a serious collision involving a semi-truck and a vehicle. The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 47 and Highway 39, just north of the city.
As a result, travel in both directions on Highway 39 east and west is currently blocked. However, north and southbound traffic is still able to pass through the area.
Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the location to allow emergency responders to work efficiently. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and more details will be provided as they become available.
