The Weyburn RCMP have issued a statement providing an update on the two-vehicle collision that occurred yesterday afternoon on Highway 39.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision about 11 kilometres southeast of Weyburn. Officers arrived on the scene alongside local fire and EMS, and determined a truck had collided with a semi-truck.
The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man from Carnduff, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified. The driver of the semi-truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
Both lanes of traffic on the highway were temporarily closed but have since reopened.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
