The Ice Bucket Challenge is making an impact once again — this time in support of mental health.
Roberta Derosier, board chair; Lynda Rideout, executive director; and Raven Daer, communications specialist with Envision Counselling and Support Centre, all took part to raise awareness the cause.
“It’s raising awareness for mental health, and that everyone struggles, and just trying to reduce that stigma,” said Rideout.
She said by taking part in the challenge, they hope to spread the message that it’s OK to reach out for help.
“We see that a lot of places in the southeast are doing this challenge and they’re raising funds for our organization. So this is a way for us to say thank you, but also to try to spread it around a bit further and get others involved.”
As per tradition, they nominated others to take part: Estevan Diversified Services, the Estevan Family Centre and the Weyburn Family Place.
