Dozens of people gathered at Abundant Life Baptist Church on Saturday morning for a special Mother’s Day brunch in support of Selah Place, a ministry that helps single mothers in need.
The event brought together families, church members, and community supporters for a morning of food, fellowship, and fundraising. Volunteers served up fresh pancakes, coffee, and conversation as guests browsed through a silent auction and a pop-up clothing sale—all to raise support for Selah Place’s work with moms navigating challenging circumstances.
“Supporting the ministry, supporting the home, supporting the society,” said Chinenye Akaluka, a staff member at Selah Place, reflecting on why it’s so important to stand with mothers who are striving to build stable, faith-filled homes.
Attendees also heard from speakers who shared personal stories and words of encouragement.
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, filled with meaningful conversations and lots of smiles as people connected over a shared cause.
