Area competitors moving forward: results from Weyburn High School Rodeo

The Weyburn High School Rodeo was held over the weekend, with 188 competitors from Grades 7 to 12 vying for the chance to attend finals in Maple Creek later this month.

Junior Champions include Jude Martin from Regina in Barrel Racing; Mason Douglas from Yellow Grass in Boys Breakaway; Denym McPhee from Handley for Boys Goat Tying; Steel Tallentire from Earl Grey for Bull Riding; Nate Korpusik from Norquay for Chute; Tess Switzer from Haszenmore for Girls Breakaway; Halle Balon from Corning for Girls Goat Tying; Lexi Cote from Yellow Grass for Poles; Denym McPhee from Handley and Elsie Williams from Domremy for Ribbon Roping; Gunner Armstrong from Shellbrook for Saddle Bronc; and Stran Muirhead from Shellbrook and Pepper Jackson from Prince Albert for Team Roping.

Senior Champions include Delaney McPhee from Handley for Barrel Racing; Mccoy Munteanu from Gravelbourg for Tie Down; Kyla Moebis from Beechy for Breakaway; Tate Beierbach from Maple Creek for Steer Wrestling;  Beau Armstrong from Shellbrook for Saddle Bronc; Jack Korpusik from Norquay for Bareback; Haddison Gaudry from Domremy for Goat Tying; Macie-Rae Warken from Big Beaver and Corbin McCuaig from Bengough for Team Roping; Maci-Rae Warken from Big Beaver for Poles; Kahl Wasilow from Maple Creek for Bull Riding.
