This week’s Adorable Adoptables spotlight is on a sweet pup named Soda Pop, a shy but lovable dog who’s ready to find his forever home.
Soda Pop came to the Cochrane & Area Humane Society as a very fearful stray with a serious injury.
“Yes, Soda Pop is awesome,” says Robyn Roy, communications coordinator. “He actually came in with Egypt that we talked about just recently and they both came in as very, very scared strays.”
After healing physically, the emotional healing took more time but with patience and the help of some canine companions, Soda Pop began to open up.
“He’s been with us for a while, just working on building confidence and he’s ready to find his forever family.”
The shelter’s Behaviour Team noticed big progress once he began spending time with other dogs, revealing his goofy and affectionate side.
“He would really benefit with another dog at home who’s well mannered and confident,” says Robyn. “Kind of be his confidence buddy and help him.”
Because of his sensitive nature, Soda Pop will thrive in an adult-only home where he can build trust at his own pace.

“These dogs do take a little bit more patience,” says Robyn. “But once that bond is built, they’re your best pal for life.”
Soda Pop is about two years old and available by appointment only, and yes, he’s as cute as his name.
