If you're heading to the Whiteout Street Party tonight, be prepared for a wet and wild night — and we’re not just talking about playoff energy.

The Winnipeg Jets are facing elimination as they take on the Dallas Stars in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., though fans should expect action to start closer to 8:50 p.m., as has been the case throughout the series.

Bring your poncho, not your umbrella

Environment Canada is forecasting a 100 per cent chance of rain throughout the game, with a risk of thunderstorms rolling in as well. True North says fans need to come prepared.

“True North wants to ensure an enjoyable experience for fans and reminds everyone attending the Street Party to dress for the weather.”

Umbrellas are not permitted inside the Street Party zone, but clear ponchos will be available in limited supply at Jets Gear stations on-site. Better yet, bring your own rain gear to make sure you stay dry while you cheer. A white garbage bag might work in a pinch.

A party with purpose

The Jets say that Winnipeggers have shown incredible spirit so far. The six Whiteout events held during the 2025 Playoffs have raised $125,000 for United Way Winnipeg, with all funds going back into key downtown initiatives.

Let’s keep that energy going — rain or shine — and help push the Jets to Game 6. Dress for the downpour, respect the rules, and bring the noise.

Go Jets Go.
