There’s still time for players and coaches to register for the Selects Football Camp happening this weekend in Weyburn and Estevan.
The camp kicks off in Weyburn on Friday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. The Estevan session runs on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a community barbecue.
Interested participants can sign up online at selectsfootball.com or visit the Selects Football social media pages. Additional information is also available through Weyburn and Estevan Minor Football.
The camp isn’t just for players. The first hour of each session is dedicated to coaching development, with a series of short presentations designed to introduce and reinforce fundamental drills and coaching techniques. After that, the focus shifts to player development with multiple on-field sessions.
“It’s not just about creating better players; it’s about building better coaches too,” said Matt Sheridan, a former CFL lineman and one of the camp’s lead organizers. “That ultimately leads to stronger programs all around.”
The camp is open to current and aspiring football players and coaches looking to grow their game and build confidence heading into the fall season.
