Saskatchewan singer-songwriter Lachlan Neville is making his way back to the area for an evening of entertainment on June 6. Neville will be performing in the Silver Willow Room at Bethany Pioneer Village.

Neville has been making a name for himself on the folk and country roots circuit performing solo on stages and sought after as a festival performer. He’s played alongside Corb Lund and Colter Wall, and Neville shone in a series of shows with Saskatchewan songstress Ellen Froese this past year.

Neville’s early passion for reading introduced him to the worlds of Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Steinbeck before he left elementary school. This love of literature, paired with the influence of his father’s ’62 Martin acoustic guitar, inspired a deep commitment to songwriting.

A winner of the Nashville-based Henhouse Express Jr. Songwriting Competition, Lachlan worked alongside JUNO-winning producer Steve Dawson and performed at established festivals such as Big Flat Folk Festival, Gateway Festival, Ness Creek Music Festival, Northern Lights Bluegrass Festival, and All Folk’d Up.

Hailing from Rocanville, SK, his remarkable lyrical gift and attention to the beauty and the trials of the world around him are captured in a soulful style with songs reminiscent of some of the greats – Townes Van Zant, John Prine, Gordon Lightfoot. Far from being derivative, Neville is carving his own path with strong performances and a growing command of the stage, laced with wry observations and plenty of humour.

Enjoy this Saskatchewan gem on June 6, at a special show at Bethany Pioner Village in Middle Lake.
