Heavy rain continues in western Manitoba with some regions already topping 65 mm.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the following regions:

  • Virden - Souris, Man. 
  • Melita - Boissevain - Turtle Mountain Provincial Park, Man. 

Between 10 to 15 mm is possible today. Residents should see a bit of relief as the Colorado low is expected to gradually taper of Friday evening. 

At 8 a.m. on Friday, the following rainfall accumulations have been reported for the previous 48 hours:

  • Carberry- 66.4 mm
  • Kola- 64.6 mm
  • Somerset- 63.2 mm
  • Virden- 62.7 mm
  • Shilo- 59.1 mm
  • Brandon- 56.2 mm
  • Kenton- 54.0 mm
  • Findlay- 50.8 mm
  • Treherne- 48.5 mm
  • Mountainside- 48.2 mm
  • Manitou- 44.9 mm
  • Sinclair- 41.1 mm
  • Ninette- 41.0 mm
  • Melita- 36.2 mm
  • Pilot Mound- 19.9 mm

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If driving visibility is reduced, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
