The Colorado low that moved through southeast Saskatchewan this week brought some record-setting rainfall to some areas.

The rain, which was expected to taper off Friday afternoon, started Wednesday and through the 48-hour period ending at 7 a.m. Friday morning had dropped 32.7 mm of precipitation on Weyburn. While this was below the expected amounts of 50-80 mm that were included in a rainfall warning issued for the region, other parts of the southeast came close to receiving those amounts.

Weyburn also say 29.1 mm of rain on Thursday, which set a new record for May 15th.

Environment and Climate Change Canada reported 68.8 mm at Moose Mountain and 60.2 mm at Estevan as of 7 a.m. Friday morning. Other rainfall totals in southeast Saskatchewan include 52.2 mm in Radville, 43.0 mm in Yellow Grass, and 33.2 mm in Milestone.

Behind the Colorado low temperatures are expected to start to warm up, getting into the teens during the week. Temperatures should get close to seasonal by next weekend. You can stay up to date with the latest forecasts by visiting the Discover Weyburn Weather page.
