Daylin Jørgensen is a singer-songwriter from St. Albert, known for her fresh take on country music.
She grew up playing piano, uploading cover songs to YouTube, and eventually transitioned into songwriting, vocal coaching, and guitar.
Now she is all smiles when it comes to her latest single, "Ripped Jeans."
The playful country track was sparked by an unexpected moment at a mall in Edmonton.
“I overheard two older ladies talking about mannequins and all the rips in their jeans,” Daylin says. “They were wondering how much they cost, so I chimed in and told them a hundred bucks.”
That quick, funny interaction turned into a full-fledged song. “I thought, nobody’s written about ripped jeans yet, this could be gold.”
“I wanted to bring people a little bit of joy, maybe a smile.”
The music video, filmed in Bootlegger at West Edmonton Mall, brought her vision to life.
Daylin’s love for country music runs deep, even though she started in pop. “My first release was a pop song,” she says. “But country always felt like home.”
“Country music speaks to my heart and soul.”
Daylin’s resume includes being a Global Country winner in 2010 and playing shows across Alberta.
