Aspire Child Development Centre is excited to announce the return of its 13th annual Push & Pace event on June 7.

This inclusive, family-friendly walk, run, or wheel fundraiser is happening at Parkland School in Red Deer and supports children with diverse needs and their families across Central Alberta.

The fully paved one-, three-, and five-kilometre routes are accessible to participants of all abilities, including those with wheelchairs and strollers.

Registration is just $15 for adults, $10 for youth, and free for children 8 and under. Rally your friends and family to form a team and amplify your impact by collecting pledges.

The day’s schedule includes:

  • 9:30 AM – Day-of registration opens

  • 10:00 AM – Group warm-up

  • 10:15 AM – First race begins

After the race, participants can stick around for a free BBQ lunch and a wide range of children’s activities, including a bouncy house, face painting, sensory tent, playground access, and more – all hosted on-site.

“Push & Pace is much more than a fundraiser – it’s a celebration of inclusion, fun, and community,” said Megan Fitzpatrick, events and donor relations  co-ordinator at Aspire.

“Whether you’re participating in the race or want to enjoy the festivities, everyone is welcome.”

“If you can’t join the race, you can still support us by sponsoring a participant or making a donation. Every dollar raised helps Aspire continue supporting central Alberta children with diverse needs,” she added.

One important program that is fundraised for all year is the fee assistance program.

“This allows every child and family to access their services. And no one is turned away due to financial barriers,” said Fitzpatrick.

More than 150 people are expected at the event.
