Friday brings a daytime high of 18°C with a 30 per cent chance of afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms. That’s expected to clear into another chilly overnight low near plus 1°C.
But the temperature pendulum is set to swing hard.
By the weekend, daytime highs will climb rapidly — reaching 22°C on Saturday, 25°C Sunday, and 26°C Monday. By Wednesday, Airdrie could be flirting with 30°C.
Nighttime lows will also rebound, rising to 6°C by Sunday night and 9°C by Monday and Tuesday.
Environment Canada’s long-range outlook suggests the back half of May will be marked by sun, heat, and major day-to-night temperature contrasts.
