Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe and District (BBBS) is inviting the public to experience mentoring in motion with its first ever MEGABike Day on June 14.

Participants will have the chance to ride a 30-person bike in a loop throughout downtown Lacombe starting and finishing at Leto’s Steakhouse and Bar. The memorable and meaningful ride will have music along with a camera available to record the entire event.

The ride itself is a 3.5-kilometre loop and takes less than an hour. There will be seven rides throughout the day starting at 9 a.m.

Anyone 14-years-old or above can ride, it costs $50 per person, and everyone is encouraged to dress up.

“We're telling people to dress up, rock their business attire or maybe have a fun team theme,” said BBBS executive director Brianna Berthiaume.

According to Berthiaume, this event means more than just a mega fun experience.

“Funding from MEGABike will go directly into our mentoring program. Within our organization, we support over 440 mentoring relationships a year and nine different types of mentoring programs,” explained Berthiaume.

There will be an after-party for the riders, including a photo booth, 50/50 draw and a silent auction for everyone to enjoy.
