The 15U AA Watrous Lakers picked up an 8-5 win over the 15U AA East Central Dodgers on Wednesday night in Humboldt.
Daxton Hoppenreys led the Lakers at the plate with three hits, a pair of RBIs and two runs scored. Jayce Lockie also had two RBIs.
For East Central, Dryden Knittig, Hunter Korte, and Kade Comfort each had two hits.
Watrous stormed out of the gates, picking up four runs through the first three innings.
East Central answered back with a run in the bottom of the third to cut the gap to 4-1.
After the Lakers extended their lead in the fifth with a run, the Dodgers closed the gap with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
In the sixth inning, the Dodgers tied the game as Knittig knocked in a run with a ground out, but the Lakers came back with three runs in the inning to secure the win.
With the win, Watrous is now 2-3, while East Central remains winless at 0-5.
Next action for Watrous is Saturday when they host the Western Dust Devils while East Central welcomes in the Battlefords Beavers also on Saturday.
