A fire advisory has been lifted for West Rocky View County, officials announced late yesterday afternoon, citing improved conditions following recent precipitation.

Effective immediately, there are no fire advisories or bans in the western region of the county, and permit burning is once again permitted. However, the fire advisory remains in effect for East Rocky View County, where fire permits will not be issued at this time.

Rocky View County Fire Services is continuing to monitor conditions and says the fire risk will be reassessed as needed. Officials caution that advisories or bans may still be in place in neighbouring municipalities.

Despite the lifted restrictions in the west, residents are urged to remain vigilant and exercise caution when burning. County officials warn that conditions can change quickly, and a fire ban may be reinstated if necessary.
