Hundreds of people made their way to Rose Church earlier this month to participate in what has become a powerful move of God.
The Transcona area church hosted six powerful nights of worship from May 4 to 9, an initiative called Fire Nights.
"We expected God to move, but we did not know how he was going to show up. He just blew it out of the water, "said David Steeves, Next Gen pastor at Rose Church. "I was thinking about the early church and how the spirit of God moved through those people and how the church was. It made history, and it transformed people's lives. So that's what we were going for."
Steeves says their latest night ended at 12:30 a.m.
"It was wild. It was old school," said Steeves. "You get to the middle of the week, you kind of feel tired. But God's still not done."
In the end, 14 people walked away healed and renewed.
"It's something I will never forget, and it was a week that marked our church, our community and honestly, Winnipeg."
Lead Pastor Mark Roslund echoed Next Gen Pastor David Steeves, saying he will never forget those powerful nights.
"This is what we’ve been praying for. Jam-packed altar every night. Tangible hunger and desperation in the room. Staying until midnight. Tears and rejoicing. A burning for the presence of God. Contending for revival. Faith rising," said Roslund. "Anxiety, depression and suicide running for the doors. Peace invading. The devil panicking. Heaven partying. Earth being kissed by heaven. Bodies made well. Minds made sound. Marriages made strong. The next generation encountering Him. Spiritual moms and dads standing guard. An army raised up. Seeds sown. This is what Jesus does. A harvest is coming. Winnipeg belongs to Jesus. Canada shall be saved."
Up next, Rose Church has a preview night for their youth group from Grade 6 to 12. Anyone with a child in Grade 5 is invited to drop by the church at 67-630 Kernaghan on May 30 between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
