The weather will be approaching 30 above this weekend, and there is plenty to do around town.
Here is what's happening in town this weekend:
Friday, May 23:
At the Okotoks Public Library, the Friends of the Okotoks Library will be hosting a book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This week's Nature Fridays event at the Environmental Education Centre is Garden Day, and people will learn about gardening, including how to plant seeds and care for the plants, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday nights are Youth Night at the Okotoks Rec Centre from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and youth aged 12 to 18 are able to enjoy a night of free fun at the Rec Centre. Councillor Rachel Swendseid will also be onsite at the Rec Centre from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. with pizza to chat with youth about Town Committees.
Saturday, May 24:
There will be an Okotoks Garden Club Annual Plant Swap and Sale at the Okotoks Rec Centre from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The Friends of the Okotoks Library book sale is happening again from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Okotoks Library.
Also at the Okotoks Library, there will be a Teen Art Club from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., as well as Tabletop Miniature painting from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
The Okotoks Elks Club is hosting their regular meat draws and a perogy lunch at noon, and kids are welcome.
The Sheep River parkrun will be happening again at the Sheep River Park, beginning at 9 a.m., and people are able to volunteer, walk, or run.
Sunday, May 25:
There are drop-in activities at the Okotoks Rec Centre for people to enjoy.
