Seniors' Week is going to be one busy week in High River.

Thanks to the Venue in town for sharing some grant money, along with the High River Performing Arts Foundation, there's a week of events lined up from June 2 to the 7.

It kicks off on Monday, June 2, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with an embroidery workshop with local artist Joyce Brown.

Then on Wednesday, June 4 get ready for some live music with the band Crooked Path at George Lane Park under the bandstand. They play a lot of Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Swing along with a few instrumentals.

Seniors can learn how to do leatherwork on Thursday, June 5 at the Seniors Friendship Centre from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Silver Strings will be performing on Thursday as well at the Venue from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.

Prepared to be dazzled by the IRERI-Smiles Mexican dancers from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday night at the Venue, which will be followed by musicians Ronnie Kerr and Bruce Hoffman playing Country Classics and Traditional fiddle songs.

Then the week concludes with the High River Seniors Friendship Centre, one of the many stops for the Parade of Garage Sales happening Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

All the activities and events are free thanks to the local support of the community.
