The Calgary Police are asking for help to identify an unknown man involved in a road rage assault incident recently.
On Tuesday, May 13, at roughly 3:40 p.m., it is believed a family was travelling in a blue-green 2022 Ford Maverick pick-up truck on the westbound Stoney Trail S.W., near TsuuT'ina Trail S.W.
It was then they discovered they were being tailgated by a man driving in a 2021 or newer model black Nissan Pathfinder SUV that had dark-tinted windows and black rims.
The driver of the truck pulled over in the area of Stoney Trail S.W. and 162 Ave SW, with the hope the driver of the SUV would simply drive past.
But, instead, the man driving the SUV parked behind the truck and exited his vehicle.
The driver of the truck then also exited his vehicle, and an altercation ensued.
A motorist had witnessed the altercation and stopped to assist, but at that time both men retreated to their vehicles.
As the victim drove away, the suspect continued to follow him, and at that point he called 911 to report the incident.
The victim then drove to a fast-food restaurant located in the 300 block of Shawville Boulevard S.E. and waited for the police to arrive.
The Pathfinder was last seen travelling northbound on Everstone Drive S.W.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or could have dashcam footage is being asked to contact the police.
