The Weyburn Police Service responded to 81 calls for service for the week of May 18th to 25th. Here's a look at notable events from the week and our follow-up.
A man was arrested for aggravated assault after an incident at a local establishment last Thursday night, which also resulted in another man being taken to the hospital with a severe injury. The behavior resulting in a call to the WPS included being disrespectful to the server and even smashing a glass.

One of numerous mischief incidents involved smashed windows on equipment and vehicles and a report of two youths in a compound tampering with a forklift, who were caught on video clear enough to be identified. They were also too young to be charged under the Criminal Code of Canada.

A Break-and-Enter on May 18th was reported, involving a cut fence at a local business, where the theft of copper was attempted. The investigation is ongoing with the lone offender described as wearing a hoodie and backpack and riding a bicycle.

Cameras, guard dogs, and even motion lights are examples of deterrents for crimes of opportunity.

Yards are a growing concern at this time of year, and the WPS included a reminder for residents about keeping things safe and pleasant on their properties.
