The Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a business open house on the proposed electric utility model transition.
The City of Red Deer is considering transitioning its electric utility to a municipally controlled corporation (MCC) — a structure that retains public ownership but allows the utility to operate with greater independence, agility and business flexibility.
To support community engagement, the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce is inviting members of the local business sector to attend a business-focused open house to learn more and provide feedback.
The event will take place this Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.in the Harvest Centre at Westerner Park
Business owners will have the opportunity to:
- Learn more about the MCC model
- Ask questions and engage with city representatives
- Discover how to contribute to the public hearing process
The Chamber encourages Red Deer’s business community to attend and share their insights to help shape the future of the city’s electric utility.
The MCC business plan is available at: reddeer.ca/utilitiesmodel.
And Business owners interested in attending can register here.
