A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of central Alberta including:
- City of Red Deer
- Red Deer County near Pine Lake
- Lacombe County near Lacombe, Blackfalds and Bentley
- Lacombe County near Clive, Alix and Mirror
Large hail may cause significant damage and injury.
Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
A severe thunderstorm watch has also been issued for other parts of central Alberta.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.
Thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and continue through the evening.
Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.
