The storm could produce hail, rain, and strong wind gusts.
“There is a slight chance of seeing some isolated thunderstorms within the High River and Okotoks region,” said Justin Shelley, Environment Canada Meteorologist. “The main threat with the thunderstorms in the southern half of the province will be strong wind gusts.”
The storm is fast moving, with a general timeframe between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today.
“If a thunderstorm does develop, it should move through the area relatively quickly,” Shelley said.
In the Foothills, Shelley reminds residents that if severe weather does approach, to take shelter as needed.
