The Saskatchewan Public Libraries has announced the Regional Park Pass lending program will return this year. From June 16th to September 15th, 2025, Saskatchewan Library card holders can borrow a Regional Park Pass for up to seven days. The pass gives free access to nearly 100 Regional Parks throughout Saskatchewan.
The program was created through a partnership between the Saskatchewan Regional Parks Association and the Saskatchewan Library Association.
The Regional Park System is unique to Saskatchewan. Each park is different and offers a variety of activities and amenities to choose from, including camping, swimming, boating, fishing, sports grounds, and golf courses.
The passes get holders into the parks, and fees for individual activities within the parks are not included with the park pass.
The Weyburn Public Library has several copies of the Saskatchewan Regional Parks Guide featuring park descriptions, photos, directions, amenities and maps of all locations, which are free to take.
The lending program is a pilot project, enabling those who can not purchase their own park pass to get out, explore and see how much fun being outdoors can be.
Passes are available at all Saskatchewan libraries, with all 46 Southeast branches participating. Passes must be checked out with a valid library card on a first come, first served basis, and only for seven days, with renewals not permitted. Passes are not available for holds, to a limit of one per household, and they must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed. Passes returned late or lost will incur a replacement charge of $60. Unreturned passes will result in a library account freeze.
To use the pass, display the hang tag from your rearview mirror with the park pass facing out.
