It is with great sadness that the family
of Elizabeth Jean (nee Schmidt) Lengyel “Betty” 97 years
of Diamond House Personal Care Home in Warman,
announce her passing on Saturday, May 24. 2025 with her family by her side.
Elizabeth Jean (Schmidt) Lengyel
Born in Laird, Saskatchewan November 14, 1927.
Attended Springfield School near Waldheim, Saskatchewan.
September 1935 to October 1939 completed Grades 1 to 6 in 4 years.
Accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1939.
Baptized in the North Saskatchewan River in 1944.
Grades 9-12 at home 1957 to 1966 by correspondence.
Married John Lawrence Lengyel in Red Deer, Alberta
on October 12,1947 (married 62 years).
(John passed away November 8, 2009)
he attended Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Saskatchewan
October 1947 to April 1948
Four Children:
Wilmer (Bonnie) June 26,1948,
Ruth (Klaas) May 12, 1952,
Jane (Jack) March 29,1955,
Murray (Sheryl) November 14, 1956.
11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
University Of Saskatchewan Bachelor of Education (Great Distinction) in 1980.
Taught at Quill Lake Elementary School from 1968-1989.
Moved to Saskatoon (Sierras) in April 2010.
In December 2018, she moved to Diamond House in Warman, Saskatchewan.
Predeceased by:
Mother Mary (Peters), Father William,
Sisters: Evelyn, Lillian and Martha
Brothers: Bill and Harold.
BEST MOTHER EVER!
A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 2:30 p.m.
from Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home & Crematorium, Hwy 5 East, Humboldt.
It was celebrated by Delores Derksen, a family friend and Betty’s minister.
Interment followed at Middle Lake Gospel Church Cemetery, Middle Lake.
Memorial donations in Betty’s memory
may be directed to Stoney Lake Bible Camp, in lieu of flowers.
