Eagles Farms received a tasty lunch courtesy of Southern Plains Co-op, delivered straight to the field as part of Seed N Feed.
“We’re about two-thirds done, probably before the rain,” said Terry Eagles. “We’ve got, I don’t know, probably 2,000 acres left. So yeah, we should be done here by the end of the week if we can get going.”
Heavy rain slowed progress. “We probably lost a few acres... everything was just so saturated. We got close to five inches around here,” he said.
Eagles is farming with his two sons and a hired hand. “There’s just the four of us who do most of it,” he said.
Looking ahead, he’s optimistic: “I’m hoping for good yields, of course, good quality… and prices. For everybody.”
Special thanks to our sponsors who keep farmers going!
