A portion of Big Rock Trail is going to be closed until the end of August.

Big Rock Trail between Sheep River Boulevard and just west of Westland Street, adjacent to the Okotoks Cemetery, is expected to be closed from June 4 to August 31, weather permitting.

This closure is due to some shallow utility installations, deep utility connections, and road widening that is necessary.

The work is being completed on behalf of the Tillotson subdivision developer, Tristar Communities.

The pathway on the north side of Big Rock Trail will also be closed while the work is being completed.

There will be pathway and road closure signs, detour signage, crews, and equipment in the area, and the Town is reminding everyone to use caution in the area.

This road closure was originally scheduled to be from May 3 to May 30.
