An Okotoks business will be returning to the Calgary Stampede midway this July.
Covet Sips + Sweets is preparing for its third year at the midway.
As always, the team has come up with some new outlandish concoctions to fit in with the midway's reputation for unique flavours and combinations.
"We've got our protein soda there, which is super viral on social media, as well as a Fiery Dill pickle Coke. It's got jalapenos and a dill pickle spirit in a Coke, which is weirdly very good. We also have a boba soda that we'll be featuring," said Covet's co-owner, Meagan Layton.
They've also prepared versions of some fan-favourite cookies.
"I thought we'd bring some double dippers to Stampede since our customers love them here so much. So, we've got an extreme sour lemon frosting dip with our mini graham cracker cookies. The hit of the sour at first will make your eyes water, and then it softens to this really sweet lemony frosting. And then, of course, our super fan favourite, the Dunkaroo dippers."
According to Layton, it's only gotten easier year after year.
"The first year we did Stampede was so terrifying, not knowing what to expect. The second year was a little bit easier; we got into the groove a little bit easier. This year, we're feeling really confident. We know what to expect, we know what our customers like. We've kind of got a system now. So, it's so lovely this year to just go in feeling excited and looking forward to 10 days of kind of crazy chaos, which is so fun. It's nice this year to not feel that panic looming. We're really enjoying our prep for this year."
Like last year, Covet will be situated close to the Super Wheel, though this time they'll be facing the midway rides.
