With the possibility of a Canada Post labour disruption looming, the Town of Cochrane has taken proactive steps to ensure residents receive their property tax notices on time.
Property tax bills were mailed out early on May 15 to help avoid any mail delivery delays. For those enrolled in paperless billing, tax notices were delivered by email as of May 20.
Property taxes are due on June 30, 2025. To help residents avoid reliance on traditional mail and meet the payment deadline, the Town is promoting a range of convenient, mail-free payment methods. These include:
-
Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP): Monthly automatic withdrawals from a chequing account.
-
Online Banking: Payments through all major banks and credit unions using the property roll number.
-
Secure Drop Boxes: Located at the Cochrane RancheHouse and FCSS building.
-
In-Person Payments: Available at The RancheHouse or The Station. Mail-in payments are still accepted, but must be postmarked by June 30 to avoid penalties.
The Town also reminds residents that credit cards and e-transfers are not accepted for property tax payments.
Utility bills were last mailed on May 7, with the next set to go out on June 9. Business licences remain available for in-person pickup at The Station.

To prevent any service interruptions and ensure timely access to tax notices, utility bills, and other municipal documents, residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for paperless billing. As an added incentive, those who register will be entered to win a $100 gift card.
