In addition to the record 50 vehicles taking part in the Soo Line Cruisers Car Club's first Care Home Cruise of the season on Sunday, there were also police cruisers.
This is because the Weyburn Police Service gets involved in various parades, including the Weyburn Comprehensive School Grad parade in June, and the summer and winter parades hosted by the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.
Sergeant Riley Ross said the WPS likes to be involved in the community.
"Our main goal as police is public safety, so even with something like a parade that's going through town, we want to be out there and making sure that that happens safely, for the people of the parade and then also the people that are watching the parade," he shared.
Showing off their vehicles is an added perk to this part of the job.
"Whenever we lead any type of parade, ultimately we're there to show off our vehicles and interact with the public, but we're also there to make sure that the parade hits off safe and any traffic control that we can do to make things safe is ultimately what we're out there for."
