As the month of June fast approaches and the sun keeps shining, many more events pop up throughout southeast Saskatchewan for people to enjoy and take part in. However, if you’re looking for an event away from the sun, the Brokenshell Multiple 4-H Club is hosting a Puzzle Challenge raising funds for their poultry project. Roxy Kravanya with the 4-H Club explains the challenge.
“We are hosting a puzzle challenge for the Brokenshell Multiple 4-H Club’s poultry project. What that entails is you need a team of four people, either 16 plus or 15 and under to be a part of your team, and you will have 4 hours to conquer either a 1000-piece puzzle if you’re 16 plus or a 500-piece puzzle if you are 15 and under. In order to enter, it is $100 for the 16 plus teams and $60.00 for the 15 and under teams.”
The proceeds from this puzzle challenge will go to the poultry project, covering costs of the club and helping allow them to continue learning about poultry and participating in fun activities they have planned for the summer including their Achievement Day on June 28th at the Weyburn Fair Days.
The event will take place at the Trossachs Hall on Sunday, June 1st from 1-5 P.M. There will be a concession available as well. There are prizes for the top two placing teams in each age group. Kravanya says you don’t have to be a puzzle master to enter as it’ll just be a fun event and a great way to get some reprieve from the heat.
“This is just a fun thing to do to bring people together, to get them out of the wind that we have been having. Maybe to give them a break from the sunburn that they're getting on Sunday afternoon.”
