A Vulcan County Community Peace Officer (CPO) has been recognized for her leadership in Emergency Social Services (ESS).

Gabby Trudel received provincial recognition from the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), for her leadership in mitigation efforts during last year’s Jasper Wildfire and for her role in developing the local ESS plan.

“Gabby’s efforts ensure that plans and support are in place for those that need it in the most difficult of times,” Nels Petersen, Director of Vulcan County Emergency Management, said on social media.

Petersen added that Trudel has displayed unwavering commitment and continued efforts in building resilient communities.

ESS provides necessities, including food, shelter, and information, during a disaster or emergency and also assists communities in recovering from the impacts of an emergency.
