Racers are gearing up as the Estevan Motor Speedway is setting up the start line ahead of their 2025 season. That's opening up on May 3rd, when the speedway will host their opening night, featuring races in all classes.
President Brad Pierson says they've got plenty of work to do before the season moves forward.
"We're very excited to get going here at the start of May. Before we even get going, we're having a clean-up night tomorrow night. That will sort of get our season kicked off, and then we get into the full racing side of it come May 3rd. Three programs in May, very good lineup for the whole year and some big races, some different events going on throughout the year."
Most of the season will look as usual, with the exception of a second enduro race and a few other specialty programs through the year.
That'll include their Tougher Than Dirt Tour in June, which will feature different classes of vehicles, with a similar event in July taking place called the Dakota Modified Classic Tour.
One change coming this year is sponsored races, with local businesses able to support some of the races happening throughout the season.
"Another big difference we have for this year is sponsored race days for all but two of our earliest races. That just features local businesses where they want to show off their equipment, help us out with promotions they get good promotions out of it as well."
Pierson also touted their concession stand, which already has a menu for the year's races.
Some of the excitement is also coming from the racers, with events like the stock car class seeing some increased participation from local drivers.
