Manitoba's five-day COVID-19 rate has jumped since Friday.
As of Monday, there have been 539 new COVID-19 cases since Saturday. New cases include 191 cases on Saturday, 211 cases on Sunday, and 137 cases on Monday.
Manitoba's five-day test rate is 6.3 per cent, up by 1.2 percentage point since Friday, Manitoba's highest rate in weeks. Winnipeg's test rate has jumped to 4.1 per cent from Friday's 2.7 per cent.
There continue to be no identified cases of the B.1.1.529 (omicron) variant in Manitoba.
"The province can confirm that all positive travel-related specimens are being sequenced," Public Health says in a Monday statement.
Monday's new cases include:
- 59 in Winnipeg, 30 people not fully vaccinated
- 41 in Southern, 24 people not fully vaccinated
- 14 cases in Northern, eight people not fully vaccinated
- 10 cases in Interklake-Eastern, seven people not fully vaccinated
- 13 cases in Prairie Mountain, eight people not fully vaccinated
The total number of cases in Manitoba is 68,845.
There are 1,613 active cases and 65,898 recoveries.
Deaths and hospitalizations
Six more people have died, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,334.
Deaths include:
- a male in his 50s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region linked to an outbreak at Manitoba Developmental Centre (reported Saturday)
- a male in his 60s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region linked to an outbreak at Manitoba Developmental Centre (reported Saturday)
- a female in her 100s from the Winnipeg health region linked to an outbreak at Grace Hospital Surgery unit (reported Sunday)
- a female in her 80s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region (reported Sunday)
- a male in his 60s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region (reported Sunday)
- a male in his 70s from the Prairie Mountain Health region (reported Monday)
In hospital, there are 152 people, with 104 of those people having active cases. Sixty-four peopel are not vaccinated, 35 people are fully vaccinated, and five people are partially vaccinated.
There are 30 people in intensive care, with24 of those people having active cases. All but two people are not vaccinated, and the others are fully vaccinated.
Portage la Prairie's Lions Prairie Manor personal care home, Skyview unit, is moved to Critical (Red) after an outbreak was declared.
