It was a busy weekend for Weyburn lacrosse teams, with three teams travelling to Swift Current for games, and one team heading to Regina.  

U17 Panther Drilling Thrashers 

The U17 Thrashers were in Swift Current for a double header against the Rampage on Saturday. The day started with an 11:45 a.m. matchup, where the Rampage would come out strong in the opening period, and pull off a 7-1 win. The lone goal for the Thrashers came from Andrew Charlton, who scored late in the first period.  

The second game of the day would also be a win for the Rampage. They would put together a strong run in the later part of the first period, and the first half of the second, and earned an 8-2 win. The goals for Weyburn came from Branson Law and Shiloh Mickler.  

The U17 Thrashers will be back in action on Monday, as they head to Moose Jaw to take on the Mustangs.  

U15 Young Fellow Thrashers 

The U15 squad found themselves in Regina on the weekend, playing Chaos Blue in a double header. The first game of the day would see the two squads finishing up in a 4-4 draw, with a late rally from the Thrashers needed to even the score. Ryder Stepp scored in the first period, before Nash Missal scored twice in the third in just under two minutes. Evrhet Schenher would then score with six seconds remaining to tie the game. 

The second game of the day would see the Thrashers again down late, but this time the rally would be stopped before they could tie the game as they fell 7-6. Lincoln Lasko would score the first goal of the game for the Thrashers, before Ryder Stepp then scored two goals in just under two minutes. Schenher also scored in the second period. In the third, Araya Lasko and Ronin Pouteaux scored late in the third period to pull Weyburn close.  

The Thrashers return to action on Wednesday, when they host Regina Chaos Grey.  

U13 Weyburn Security Thrashers 

The U13 Weyburn Security Thrashers would play the Rampage in Swift Current Saturday morning and took advantage of three goals in the third to go on to a 6-3 win. Coy Svedahl opened the scoring in the first period and added another goal in the second. Judd Vennard would open the lead up with a goal in the middle frame, and Roman Quigley added a marker in the second as well. In the third period, Jett Fox and Svedahl would score to help the Thrashers win.  

U13 Young’s Equipment Thrashers 

The U13 Young’s Equipment Thrashers would take advantage of facing Swift Current in their second game of the day, running up the score to a 7-1 victory Saturday afternoon. Landon Leroux opened the scoring in the first period, then Cooper Dammann made it 2-0 late in the frame. In the second, Paislee Besharah would score, followed by Leroux’s second of the day. The third period saw Ben Cote and Mayhem Haider find the back of the net, with Leroux scoring his third of the game late in the period.  

The U13 Young’s Equipment Thrashers are back in action on Wednesday, when they host Regina Chaos Green.
