With a hot and dry week, Estevan Fire Rescue was out in the community responding to a number of different calls.
Starting on May 26, a crew was dispatched to a vehicle's collision with a moose east of the city at 10:15 p.m. The crew had to have the vehicle towed from the scene, with no reports of injuries.
The next day, on May 27 at 3:18 p.m., a crew was alerted to a commercial fire alarm in the North Central area of the city. They found that the alarm was false, with EFR assistance not required, and the crew standing down in response.
At 9:20 a.m. on May 28, a crew responded to a grass fire occurring Southwest of the city. They arrived and quickly put out the fire. No reports of damage or injuries were made.
May 29 saw a crew dispatched to another grass fire at 1:55 p.m., this time occurring South of the city. The crews once again extinguished the fire with no reports of damage or injuries.
Later that day, they were called to another grass fire at 4:50 p.m., this time Southeast of the city. A crew again responded and extinguished the fire with no damage or injuries.
On May 30 at 10:10 p.m., a crew was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm in the South end of the city. Before they arrived on the scene, they were updated that the alarm was false and subsequently stood down.
On May 31, a crew went to the South end of the city to respond to a fire alarm at 6:30 p.m. The crew found that the alarm was false and assistance was not required.
Later that night at 9:00 p.m., EFR was contacted to assist with a small fluid spill in the North end of the city. The duty officer responded and assisted.
Finishing the week on June 1, a crew was sent to a commercial fire alarm at 3:30 p.m. on the South end of the city. The alarm was found to be false, and assistance was not required.
