Douglas Danroth passed away May 4, 2025 at the age of 92.

Born on August 29, 1932 in Lucky Lake Sask. Doug was raised in nearby Demaine, where he attended school and developed a deep connection to his community and the land. A man committed to providing for his family Doug farmed, drove school bus, and after turning the land over to his kids dedicated his skills to the local Credit Unions in Demaine, Beechy and Swift Current, in his roles as manager & loans officer for 40 years.

On June 26, 1954 Doug married Maxine (Johnson). They welcomed 3 children: Neil (born July 16, 1955), Kelly (born February 22, 1957), and Terry (born August 23, 1961). They were married for 65+ years. Doug & Maxine endured the heartbreaking loss of their daughter Terry in 1981, a sorrow that remained with them always.

Doug had 1 brother – Dale, there was a 10-year age difference, they remained incredibly close throughout their lives. When Dale married Pearl (Maxine’s youngest sister) their unique bond became even stronger. In his younger years Doug enjoyed playing ball, hockey & curling. Sports that reflected his community spirit. He also spent many hours in his retirement watching the Blue Jays & Roughriders. Later in life, after relocating to Swift Current, he became very active in the Kiwanis Club.

Doug was a quiet thoughtful man. He was known for his gentle nature, calm demeanor, steadfast love for his family, the belief in giving people a chance, and his “sweet tooth”.

Doug is survived by his son Neil Danroth, daughter Kelly (Kirk) Ringrose, grandchildren Kristian (Kara) Danroth, Melissa (Jason) Holderbein, Quintin (Carlie) Danroth, Riley (Lauren) Danroth, Dani (Kyle) Ringrose-Hobbs and Kerry (Danna) Ringrose. Great-grandchildren Easton, Cooper & Hudson Danroth, Reese, Shae & Boston Holderbein, Iver, Noah &Hanes Danroth, Sheriden & Kipton Danroth, Jude & Ash Ringrose-Hobbs, Ryder & Rosalind Ringrose, also brother Dale (Pearl) Danroth as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Doug was predeceased by his wife Maxine, daughter Terry, and daughter-in-law Pam Danroth.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Demaine Community Hall. Burial will take place on June 26th, which would have been Doug & Maxine’s 71st wedding anniversary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Kiwanis Club of Swift Current Box 1945 Swift Current Sask S9H 4M6, or the Waterside Cemetery Box 100 Beechy, Sask S0L 0C0.
