Deborah Jean Fleck was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on July 22, 1963, to Robert and Nina Cumpstone. They moved to Aneroid, Saskatchewan shortly afterwards to live with Deborah’s brother Douglas and grandparents Otto and Ethel Ruehs. A few years later they moved to Swift Current with Deborah’s stepfather Stan Fleck. Deborah went to school at Ashley Park and O. M. Irwin Schools. She volunteered at the Saskatchewan Abilities Council and was involved in getting Special Olympics started in Swift Current. Deborah also volunteered at Camp Olympus which was operated by Salem Lutheran Church in Shaunavon and served on the board for a few years with Pastor Bowen. Deborah worked for years in respite homes and group homes for the physically and mentally challenged. She was forced to retire in her forties due to her back health. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting and sewing.

She was predeceased by her mother Nina Jean Fleck and her father Robert Cumpstone.

Deborah is survived by her stepfather Stanley V. Fleck, her husband Ronald Mitchell Miller, her children Justin Lane Orthner, Jennifer Lynn Cragg (Orthner) and Nikki Jean Miller, her grandchildren Rhett Cragg and Lilly Cragg, brother Doug Fleck (Zena Collier and stepsister Janice Fleck (Dale).

A Private Graveside Service will take place at Memory Gardens in Swift Current at a later date. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon (www.Binkleys.com) is in charge of the arrangements.
