Happy Gilmore 2 is coming out July 25 on Netflix.
The original was filmed in Canada, with a couple of notable High River residents working as stunt actors.
Local chuckwagon champion and stunt actor, Jason Glass, remembers working on the original movie almost 30 years ago with his dad, the legendary Tom Glass.
"I see they've made a second one. It'll never be anywhere near as classic as the first one. That was a lot of fun. Me and my friends and family worked on that show."
The iconic fight scene in the original between Bob Barker and Adam Sandler even won an MTV Award for Best Fight.
However, the award perhaps should've gone to the stunt double, Tommy Glass.
"Yeah, that was my dad doubling for Bob. So, yes, it was a lot of fun and since then we've filmed them a lot of different stuff and it's been great."
Most of the original actors appear in Happy Gilmore 2, sadly, Bob Barker passed away since the original was made.
Jason is still active in the film industry, most recently working on season three of Billy the Kid, but he's now busy on the chuckwagon circuit and is appearing in Bonnyville this weekend. He most recently came in second overall at the Grande Prairie Stompede and currently sits in first overall in the world standings.
