The Okotoks RCMP recently pulled someone over for incorrect vehicle registration, which led to two people being charged for having large quantities of drugs, cash, and weapons.

On May 31 at 5:30 a.m., the Okotoks RCMP were on patrol near Aldersyde, when they stopped a suspicious vehicle that was registered incorrectly.

Once the vehicle was pulled over, the police saw a large quantity of drugs, cash, and weapons in the vehicle.

The police recovered the following from the vehicle:

  • 88 tablets of Fentanyl
  • 35 grams of Cocaine

  • 6 grams of Psilocybin (Mushrooms)
  • 177 grams of Cannabis Resin
  • 257 tablets of prescription medications
  • An extendable baton and two knives

As a result, Lethbridge residents Kory Shouting (45) and Nancy Sovdi (49) have been charged with five counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, and Possession of Stolen Property of over $5,000.

Both were remanded today (June 6). They have a courtĀ appearance on June 17, in Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane.
