The Weyburn Arts Council unveiled this week, for the second year in a row, the Get Out Gallery. This time, the featured works by local artist Lorena Squires can be found at River Park.
Curator Regan Lanning with the Weyburn Art Gallery is asking the public to enjoy the display but be respectful.
"Last year, everyone was very respectful and we hope that continues to be the case."
The first Get Out Gallery in 2024 was on display at Jubilee Park, and Lanning said she would like to see it roam to other locations in years to come.
"I want to thank our funding partners on this project, the construction of the plinths and the fiberglass covers were rather expensive, so we partnered with a number of area organizations, those being South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District Inc., the Weyburn Oilwomen Association Inc, Prairie Sky Co-op, the Weyburn YF Wives Club, and we also received the very last ART FARM Scholarship for this project."
She added that gallery programming wouldn't be possible without the continued support of the City of Weyburn, SK Arts, and SaskCulture.
