The Cochrane Public Library is gearing up for a summer full of stories, imagination, and fun with the return of its third annual Summer Reading Club.
Aimed at keeping kids engaged with reading during the school break, the program offers a variety of creative activities to spark curiosity and expand young readers' horizons.
The excitement begins with a three-day kickoff event from July 2nd to 4th, packed with themed programming.
Kids can look forward to a treasure hunt through the library to discover new genres, get crafty with magical activities celebrating the library’s 75th anniversary, and enjoy the ever-popular Dog Man Day, inspired by the hit children’s book series.
Jocelyn Eckert from the library says the goal is to make reading fun and exploratory:
“It’s local, it’s tailored to our community, and it’s all about helping kids explore new genres, try different books, and stay engaged with reading all summer long.”
The official reading challenge kicks off July 7th, where participants can track their progress using a reading log, earn weekly badges, and attend Fun Fridays for prizes and more hands-on activities.
