Local travellers heading through the intersection of Highways 39 and 13 can expect some delays this summer, as the construction of a roundabout at this intersection continues.
A release by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways in coordination with the City of Weyburn outlines the detours established by the Ministry. These will be in place effective Tuesday, June 10th and will likely extend throughout the summer construction season.
No through traffic will be permitted on Highway 13 across Highway 39. All vehicles travelling on Highway 13 will be detoured via Rural Municipality grid roads. Separate detours will be in place for passenger vehicles and truck traffic.
Highway 39 will remain open through a temporary bypass, reduced to single lane, two-way traffic.
Detour signage will be in place and clearly posted to guide motorists; however, all drivers are asked to remain alert as detour routes may be unfamiliar. Additional time should be allotted for trips through this area.
