Don't be surprised if you see a procession of police vehicles moving through Okotoks in the coming days.
Preparations are underway for the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, and members of the police escort team will be running drills ahead of the event.
The training exercises will involve personnel from the Calgary and Edmonton police services, the RCMP, and Alberta Sheriffs.
While most of the motorcade activity will take place in Calgary, Calgary police have confirmed that outlying communities may also see motorcades pass through.
Traffic disruptions are expected during the drills.
"You will see our teams blocking intersections, moving motorcades through traffic," said Insp. Rob Patterson of the Calgary Police Service in a social media video. "We ask that, during that time, you're patient and understand that our entire goal is that during the G7, all the world leaders and the public are safe while we move them around."
